Aliyev Has Made a Proposal to Armenia Regarding Regional Peace: Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a press conference following the G20 summit, during which he addressed Armenia in response to a journalist's question about whether he had discussed the situation in the South Caucasus with the US President. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Erdogan emphasized that Turkey continually works toward the establishment of a "six-platform" in the region. He noted that this proposed structure should include Russia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, and Georgia, asserting that such a move would lead to the establishment of peace in the region.
According to the Turkish president, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has made a proposal to Armenia concerning regional peace. Erdogan also discussed Georgia's position on the proposed platform, mentioning that the Georgian side approaches the matter a bit negatively. However, he stressed that if a positive atmosphere exists among all parties, it is indeed possible to create such a platform.
“Once this platform is formed, the region will quickly transform into a zone of peace, and Turkey will also bring its relations with Armenia to a much clearer and open stance on this issue. But, of course, changing Georgia-Russia relations in a positive direction will facilitate our task,” Erdogan added.
