Armenia Interested in Extending Russian Peacekeepers' Presence in Artsakh, Security Council Office
Armenia is interested in extending the presence of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh until the final resolution of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh is achieved. This was reported to the TASS agency by the office of the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council.
“Unfortunately, the situation is currently not sufficiently stable from a security perspective. Recently, we witnessed a ceasefire violation that resulted in the death of a civilian, and there are also injuries. Therefore, the factor of the Russian peacekeeping force in Nagorno-Karabakh will be important and significant as long as the status of Nagorno-Karabakh remains unresolved,” noted the office of the Armenian Security Council.
The Security Council office also emphasized that the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the citizens of Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as in guaranteeing the uninterrupted and safe movement of infrastructure, populations, and goods.
