Several Names Circulating for the Position of Secretary of the CP Faction
After the resignation of deputy Nazeli Baghdasaryan from her mandate, the party is inclined to appoint a woman again to the position of secretary of the CP faction. According to the newspaper "Hraparak," names such as Tsovinar Vardanyan, daughter of former minister Gevorg Vardanyan from the Ter-Petrosyan era, and Arusyak Julakhyan are being discussed.
Despite Arpi Davoyan also vying for the position, her candidacy is considered rejected from the start, as National Assembly President Alen Simonian would be categorically against her. The matter is that at one time, when the issue of Simonian becoming the President of the National Assembly was discussed in the CP leadership, Arpi Davoyan fought fiercely to oppose it but ultimately failed. The view of the National Assembly President is decisive concerning the leadership and secretary positions of the CP faction. Additionally, the CP team's attitude towards Davoyan is not positive.
