NATO Not Ready for Collective Security, Forces Approaching Russian Borders, Shoigu Says
NATO is steadily moving forces closer to Russian borders. This statement was made by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as reported by TASS.
“Against the backdrop of calls for military deterrence towards Russia, NATO is consistently moving forces to our borders. The German defense minister should be well aware of how this ended for Germany and Europe. There should be a common security in Europe without infringing upon Russia’s interests. However, NATO is not ready for an equal dialogue on this matter,” Shoigu emphasized.
He described the results of NATO’s deterrence program implementation in Afghanistan as a disaster. “The implementation of NATO’s deterrence program in Afghanistan ended in disaster, which the whole world is now dealing with,” the minister stated.
