Minister of Education Discusses Opening Russian Schools in Armenia
After a government meeting, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan held a briefing with journalists where he stated that he has not recorded any statements from the Armenian leadership, any government officials, or any high-ranking officials from Russia, particularly Lavrov, indicating that the Armenian government intends to open new Russian schools.
“In Tajikistan, five Russian schools are being opened under our complete methodology teaching program. A similar program is currently being prepared for Uzbekistan. Recently, the new leadership of Armenia has shown interest in having a similar program implemented in Armenia,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced a few days ago.
In response to journalists' inquiries about Lavrov's statements, Dumanyan said, “Such an issue is not on the agenda. Rest assured, we do not have such a question on the agenda at this moment.”
However, the minister noted that they “prioritize the issue of popularizing the Russian language,” especially in the modern world where communication is an essential tool.
