How Arushanyan Received the News of Victory
Yesterday, the Arushanyan alliance, led by Arush Arushanyan, won the local elections in Goris. A total of 6,256 voters cast their ballots in his favor. It is important to note that Arushanyan is currently in custody and is located in the "Yerevan-Center" penitentiary.
In an interview with ArmDaily.am, Arushanyan's lawyer Erik Aleksanyan stated that the newly elected mayor received the news very calmly and modestly, which is characteristic of his nature. "He also said that this is the beginning of a victory," the lawyer noted.
A court hearing regarding Arush Arushanyan's case is scheduled for November 5. Aleksanyan mentioned that the defense side will raise the issue of changing the preventive measure.
When asked how the election results and the trial might impact each other, the lawyer indicated that the two processes are not interconnected. "In the case of remaining in custody, the first deputy will carry out the duties until Arushanyan's release," the lawyer stated.
