Russia Wants to Start Nuclear Deal Negotiations with Iran as Soon as Possible: Lavrov
The new Iranian government could form a team within two weeks to return to negotiations on the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in New York during a press conference following the 76th session of the UN General Assembly. TASS reported on this.
“We want the negotiations on the full restoration of the JCPOA to resume as soon as possible. But the Iranian government has just recently been formed; they say they need another two weeks, I hope not more, to form their negotiating team,” said the Foreign Minister.
Russia has “thoughtful optimism” regarding the return to the implementation of the nuclear deal with Iran, Lavrov added.
