Azerbaijani Armed Forces Firing in Direction of Sotk Mountain Pass, Says Arman Tatoyan
According to incoming reports, Azerbaijani armed forces are currently firing in the direction of the Sotk Mountain Pass. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.
It is specifically noted that the shots are coming from the area where the wind turbines are located. This area is situated in the Gegharkunik Province, around the Sotk Mountain Pass (200 hectares), which was granted to a company legally registered in Armenia by a decision of the Armenian government in December 2000. A lease agreement was signed for a period of 30 years, ensuring the state registration of property rights.
In other words, Azerbaijani armed forces are illegally present in the territory belonging to the Armenian business entity, from which they periodically target the Sotk gold mine, the Geghamasar community, and the positions of the Armenian armed forces. Their illegal presence has caused approximately $5,000,000 in damages to the Armenian business entity.
It is noteworthy that he had previously reported that Azerbaijani armed forces opened direct fire towards the villages of Kut and Norabak in the Gegharkunik Province.
