Turkey Extends Power Lines to Idlib
Turkey continues to increase its influence in several regions of northern Syria that are effectively under its control. This time, Ankara has decided to supply electricity to the city of Idlib, which currently has a population of 3 million. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
In Idlib, underground communication lines for electricity from neighboring Turkey have already been installed. It is noted that since May, several institutions closer to the border (hospitals, water pumping stations, shops, etc.) have been receiving electricity from Turkey.
In recent years, Idlib, which has seen a surge in population due to many refugees sheltering there as a result of the Syrian conflict, primarily relied on diesel-powered generators for electricity. The supply of electricity from Damascus had ceased following internal conflicts and the takeover of Idlib by various armed groups, including terrorist organizations.
It is noteworthy that since Turkey's incursion and establishment in several northern regions of Syria (such as Afrin, Azaz, Idlib, etc.), schools operating in Turkish, Turkish mosques, university branches, services from the Turkish postal company, the network of the Turkish mobile operator 'Türk Telekom,' and the use of the Turkish lira have become prevalent.
