Arayik Harutyunyan Splits into 3 Factions: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports that ahead of the elections, like many others, the President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, is taking steps to secure his position in case of a possible regime change. Sources indicate he has divided his entourage into three factions. One faction has been directed to support the 'Armenia' alliance led by Robert Kocharyan, another to back Serzh Sargsyan and Vahe Vanyan's 'I Have Honor' bloc, while the third works in favor of Nikol Pashinyan and the current government. Active in this last faction is the former head of the NSS, Kamo Aghajanyan.
Former Kashatagh leader Ruslan Khachaturyan is coordinating connections with one of the opposition factions, although it remains unclear which one. Regarding how their support for the opposition is manifested, sources mentioned that 'displaced Artsakh residents are being encouraged to lobby for the opposition among their friends and acquaintances.'
