We Must Strengthen Armenia, but Simultaneously We Must Weaken Azerbaijan: Vardan Voskanian
It is clear that the Iranians consider themselves to be either not defeated or not benefited from this war. Political analyst Vardan Voskanian stated this during a conversation with reporters today, May 22.
“Iranian policy has now become active in the South Caucasus, and Iran needs as strong an Armenia as possible. Our interests coincide with Iranian interests, and we can work in that direction. By ‘we’, I do not mean to imply any current authority in Armenia at this moment, but rather a future Armenia,” he emphasized.
According to Voskanian, we currently have the most shadowy acting government in the entire history of Armenia. “The wheel of history is turning against this government. They are going to leave, and every day they bring new troubles upon us. They are subjecting our society to new anxieties and creating new security issues for our population. Today in Armenia, monarchical decisions are being made without taking any opinion into account,” Voskanian highlighted.
He stated that the Armenian society has not surrendered, and no matter how much the Azerbaijani side tries to extract as many concessions as possible from this situation, “We must strengthen Armenia, but simultaneously we must weaken Azerbaijan.”
