Lapshin Opens Account at Artsakhbank to Receive €30,000 Transfer from Azerbaijan
Russian and Israeli blogger Alexander Lapshin has taken a symbolic step in order to receive the funds to be transferred from Azerbaijan, opening a bank account at Artsakhbank. "I have opened an account at the bank to receive the €30,000 transfer from Azerbaijan as per the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg," Lapshin wrote on his Facebook page, attaching a photo of his Artsakhbank credit card.
On May 20, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) found the Azerbaijani authorities guilty of attempting to kill Lapshin. Lapshin mentioned this on his Facebook page, stating, "Victory! The European Court of Human Rights has found the Azerbaijani authorities guilty of attempting to murder me in a Baku prison and inflicting brutal torture. Azerbaijan has been ordered to pay me €30,000 in compensation. My esteemed lawyers Karina Moskalenko and Anna Maralyan, you are exceptional professionals, I love you."
