There is a Discrepancy in the Messages of the Two States Regarding the Conversation Between Pashinyan and Macron: Which Part is Missing?
The Ambassador of France to Armenia, Jonathan Lacôte, has published the press release from the French presidency regarding the conversation between President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“On May 13, the President had a phone conversation with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the developments along the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The President reiterated France's commitment to Armenia's territorial integrity and emphasized the need for the immediate withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from Armenian territory. France wishes to find a solution to the existing tensions in the region through the UN Security Council in order to restore stability and security in this area,” the release states.
Interestingly, the announcement from the Armenian government does not include the mention of the UN Security Council.
