Orders Issued by the Acting Chairman of the Collective Security Council Regarding the Events in Syunik
On May 14, Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CSTO, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojidin Mukhriddin. This information was provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
The heads of the foreign policy departments discussed the situation created at the state border of Armenia since May 12 and the steps being taken to resolve the situation.
Continuing on behalf of the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia, Ara Ayvazyan emphasized the necessity of implementing the consultation mechanism provided by Article 2 of the Collective Security Treaty in letters sent to the leaders of the CSTO member states.
Chairman of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers Sirojidin Mukhriddin informed Ara Ayvazyan that relevant orders have already been given by the Acting Chairman of the Collective Security Council, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
