Everything is More Sad Than You Think: Edgar Elbakyan's Post

Political scientist Edgar Elbakyan made a post on his Facebook page, stating: "Weakness and adaptability have taken root in us through the expansion of mercantilism. A person's occupation determines their way of life. Have you heard about Kurdish mercantilism? No? That's because there is no such thing; accordingly, the lifestyle of the Kurds is different. The merchant's challenge is to maintain good relations with everyone, to avoid insulting anyone, and when necessary, to even swallow an insult to clear the path for their product. But everything is sadder than you think because if there once was indeed an Armenian merchant class that had a certain weight in global trade, today, at best, we operate at a level of petty trading.

So, do not be surprised at today's weaklings and conformists; remember a song from the 19th-20th centuries:
‘The Kurds carry away the Kurdish,
Your brother's blood they drink,
You, with indifferent cold blood,
Seek peace in vain.
Shame on you, a thousand times shame,
For you have no weapon in your hand,
While your brother on the battlefield
Is defeated by the enemy.’"
