It Seems Few Have Noticed That Today the Enemy Has Again Advanced: Karen Vrtanesyan
Military expert Karen Vrtanesyan writes on his Facebook page: “It seems few have noticed that TODAY the enemy has again advanced, not only in Syunik but also in Vardenis. Moreover, this was officially reported, but in a way that hardly draws attention.
The Ministry of Defense's bold statement reads: “On May 13, the Azerbaijani armed forces committed yet another provocation against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, attempting to secure positional advancement in the border areas of Vardenis and Sisian.” At first glance, it may seem that the attempt was unsuccessful, especially when reading the beginning of the next sentence: “In both cases, the advancement has been halted as a result of the actions of the RA armed forces.”
However, reading to the end reveals a completely different picture: “The Azerbaijani side has been asked to leave the territory immediately and return to their original positions.” This means they have advanced and remained in place. Our forces are also “making demands.” I suppose that the expressions on people's faces must be asking for clarification.”
