Recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a manifestation of the stick and carrot game, Peskov speaks again about Biden's statement
Dmitry Peskov was a guest on Channel One's "Big Game" program, where he also addressed U.S. President Joe Biden's use of the term "genocide" on April 24.
Peskov stated that Washington's recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a manifestation of the “stick and carrot” game rather than a show of compassion for the Armenian people. Today, he made this assertion during his appearance on Channel One's "Big Game" program.
“I believe this is largely what the recognition of the Genocide by Washington is about. Most likely, it is a component of this beloved stick and carrot game. It is not a desire to empathize with the Armenian people, nor a wish to deeply understand the history of the Ottoman Empire and Armenia,” said the Kremlin representative.
Recall that on April 24, the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, U.S. President Joe Biden referred to the mass killings carried out in Ottoman Turkey as "genocide." Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed deep sorrow over his American counterpart's statement.
