I Resign from the Yerevan City Council Membership: BHCP Member Hripsime Arakelyan
The member of the Yerevan City Council from the Prosperous Armenia Party, Hripsime Arakelyan, has announced her resignation from her mandate.
In a statement on her Facebook page, she wrote, “Two and a half years ago, I took on the mandate of a member of the Yerevan City Council. During this time, I have tried, to the best of my ability, to make the lives of Yerevan residents better. Unfortunately, what has been happening in our country over the past three years is well known to all of us, and expecting any success from the ruling party is a false hope.”
She added, “The disgraceful realities of the past seven months have made it impossible for me to discuss or work with these irresponsible individuals, to be in the same chamber during sessions, as it contradicts my principles. I am resigning from my mandate as a member of the Yerevan City Council and would like to thank the Prosperous Armenia Party for the collaboration and trust over the past 2.5 years. I wish the BHCP success in the upcoming parliamentary elections. We will meet again.”
