Nikol Pashinyan: "Our Boys Died So That When Aliyev Says the Issue of Karabakh is Resolved, We Can Say It Is Not"
We must live in this region, but the biggest problem in this region is that we are perceived as enemies, and we perceive each other as enemies. The more we perceive each other as enemies, the harder it is to find the starting point from which this process begins. This was stated by Nikol Pashinyan during a meeting with residents in the Aragatsotn region.
"We need to acknowledge that this closed chain must be managed somehow; we must understand what to do with this reality, which is not an easy question. If it were an easy question, we would have solved it long ago, but we must confront this issue," he emphasized.
He referred to the ways to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, stating that no matter how much the Azerbaijani leadership claims that the issue is resolved, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not resolved. "There will be many questions: after all, why did our boys die? I want to answer this question very specifically: our boys died so that when the President of Azerbaijan declares that the issue of Karabakh is resolved, we can say that the issue of Karabakh is not resolved because Azerbaijan's plan was precisely that: to resolve the Karabakh issue by ensuring that no Armenians remained physically in Karabakh. But today Artsakh exists; the Armenians of Artsakh exist, and this is thanks to our fallen brothers, our soldiers, and our army. Yes, we have gone through a bitter war, but what we have, we have thanks to our boys," Pashinyan noted.
Pashinyan emphasized that steps must be taken to open communications, as this is beneficial for Azerbaijan, which needs a communication link with Nakhchivan, and is also advantageous for Armenia, as we need a reliable railway connection and land link through the railway with the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Iran. "This means that the economy of our country can change significantly," Pashinyan concluded.
