Will the Military Budget Be Reduced or Not? The Deputy Prime Minister's Answer
The issue of reducing the military budget is not being discussed in the government and is not planned to be discussed. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan in response to a query from ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’.
For several days, media outlets have been spreading information that the government has decided to cut the military budget, and such discussions have already taken place. ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ inquired how true this information is and whether such discussions have occurred.
“At this moment, we are exclusively discussing questions related to increasing the efficiency of budgetary expenditures, through which expenses for certain programs will increase, while for others they will decrease,” Grigoryan noted.
Additionally, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the defense sector has naturally been and remains a priority for the government, and the processes aimed at enhancing the efficiency of budgetary expenditures will only contribute to strengthening the sector.
