What Serzh Sargsyan and Onik Gasparyan Discussed: 'Hraparak'
Recently, Mikael Minasyan reported intriguing information that the National Security Service had wiretapped Onik Gasparyan and recorded a phone conversation between the Chief of General Staff and Serzh Sargsyan... This recording will be released soon.
We sought to clarify the subject of this conversation. It turns out that this discussion took place in December during Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Syunik. Serzh Sargsyan was informed that Onik Gasparyan had visited Syunik on December 19, just before Pashinyan's trip, to ensure that the Prime Minister's visit on December 21 would not be obstructed.
It was already known the day before that the residents of Syunik would not allow Pashinyan to enter the region, thus, only the security forces could address this issue. This news surprised Serzh Sargsyan, as it was unexpected that such a minor mission would be undertaken by the Chief of Staff.
When Gasparyan was informed of Sargsyan's surprise, he became so upset that he called Serzh Sargsyan directly and angrily stated, 'I have nothing to do with this visit; how can I get involved in such matters?' He was so furious that he even insulted Pashinyan, asserting, 'I am not his executor.' This conversation is what the NSS has recorded and intends to publish.
