Tensions Rise at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Police Detain Vahagn Chakhalyan
Members of the "Liberation Movement" are holding a protest at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia. According to Aysor.am, the situation became tense when police used force to detain protest participant Vahagn Chakhalyan from the MFA building.
“This has become a signature move. There are specific rules during a protest; if someone obstructs the normal functioning of something, the procedure is to approach the organizer of the gathering, demand the obstruction be removed, then inform them twice via loudspeaker, and only after that should the person be removed, not just detained,” said Ara Zohrapyan, the organizer of the protest, to reporters.
It’s worth noting that the participants are waiting for a representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to answer their questions. Earlier reports indicated that the protesters are convinced that the government has adopted a policy aimed at leaving Artsakh within Azerbaijan and they demand an official response from the MFA.
