Putin Reveals Details on Negotiations with Nikol Pashinyan and Ilham Aliyev Regarding the Trilateral Agreement
Russia24 has prepared a new report on Russian President Vladimir Putin's activities in 2020, also touching upon the Nagorno-Karabakh war. The report includes excerpts from an earlier interview with Putin.
“It was a complex, energy-consuming process, I think, from all sides,” Vladimir Putin said, speaking about the acceptance of the trilateral statement concerning the Nagorno-Karabakh war.
Putin noted that the statement was born out of trilateral consultations, where he effectively took on the role of a mediator. “I spoke with the leaders, listened to their demands and comments on the text, made amendments, contacted the other side, heard their wishes and demands, and then consulted again with the other leader. It was a trilateral effort,” he remarked.
Putin emphasized that Armenia had reached a point where a decision had to be made: “There was a struggle over every point, every punctuation mark in the statement.”
