Arsen Babayan Detained at Police Station, Babken Harutyunyan Claims
Citizens have gathered near the "Zvartnots" airport to prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from traveling to Moscow. Babken Harutyunyan, a member of the "Homeland" party, addressed the police via loudspeaker, stating: "Who are you blocking the road for? For someone who will want to go to Syunik tomorrow? This traitor has to coordinate with Azerbaijan before he goes. This is the true nature of Nikol. Today, he will go and sell part of the homeland again, he will grovel before Aliyev, and he will humiliate himself again. But it won’t work; this traitor's days in power are numbered. Do not think that by blocking us and detaining our friend, you can prolong the reign of this traitor!"
Moments ago, it was reported that Arsen Babayan, a member of the council of the "Homeland" party, is currently detained at the central police station. We express our support for our friend. This abhorrent political strategy of repression will face consequences.
The attendees began chanting "Armenia without Nikol." The citizens aimed to march to the airport; however, the police had blocked the road. An officer stated that the right to free movement of citizens is temporarily restricted without specifying the reasons: "If you really want to know the reasons, submit a written request, and you will receive an answer."
It should be noted that Arsen Babayan had posted yesterday, indicating that he would be at the "Zvartnots" airport at 8 AM today to prevent Nikol Pashinyan's departure to Moscow. Early in the morning, Nikol Pashinyan's motorcade passed through Isakov Avenue.
