Situation Regarding Peacekeeping Operations as of December 17
Situation regarding the implementation of peacekeeping operations as of December 17: The Russian Ministry of Defense has released a new map depicting the deployment of peacekeepers in Artsakh. The previous map was published on December 15. In the new map, the Lachin Corridor is marked as a separate zone, a designation not present in earlier maps. Judging by the updated map, a new, small area toward Martakert has been included in the patrol zone of the Russian peacekeepers in the north.
Slight changes in the borders have also occurred in the Askeren and Martuni regions, but unlike in the north, the opposing forces have approached their positions closer to the Armenian positions here. In particular, the contact line has moved closer to the city of Martuni.
