MPs Will Not Receive 13th Salary
Employees of the National Assembly have been paid ahead of the New Year with what is commonly referred to as the "13th salary," a long-standing practice in both public and private sectors. Employees always factor this financial resource into their family budgets. This has been reported by the National Assembly staff.
We would like to emphasize that the Speaker of the National Assembly has decided not to grant MPs the 13th salary. The corresponding order was signed by the Speaker on December 14 and is subject to publication within two days.
Taking this opportunity, we also inform that during 2020, the staff of the National Assembly has already managed to save around 845 million drams from bonuses and various other items, which has been directed to solve problems arising from the pandemic and the war. We aim to increase the total savings directed to the state budget to at least 1.2 billion by the end of the year, which constitutes 20 percent of the Annual Assembly budget.
