Ara Aivazyan and Oliver Varhelyi Discuss Regional Security and Stability Issues
On December 17, Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan met with Oliver Varhelyi, the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, ahead of the third meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council.
They addressed a wide range of issues related to the Armenia-EU partnership agenda. Minister Aivazyan noted that deepening cooperation with the European Union and its member states remains one of Armenia's foreign policy priorities.
The two officials exchanged views on the current implementation phase of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement and the Eastern Partnership Summit 2020 vision.
Minister Aivazyan and Commissioner Varhelyi discussed issues related to regional security and stability. In this context, Minister Aivazyan presented the steps being taken to address the consequences of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey against Artsakh and dealing with the crisis that has emerged in the region.
He particularly emphasized the importance of involving the international community in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh and addressing the urgent needs of the Armenians of Artsakh.
