Iran Advises Erdogan to Study History Well
The special assistant to the speaker of the Iranian Parliament for international affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has advised Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to study history well, according to IRNA news agency.
“Erdogan's recent remarks have astonished me. I wonder if the President of Turkey understands what he is talking about. Mr. President, there is a difference between the expectations of neighborhood and expansionism,” Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his Twitter page.
He also urged Erdogan to read history before making statements. “Please read carefully the history of Iran and specifically the Islamic Republic,” he added.
Earlier, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reported that the Turkish ambassador in Tehran had been summoned to the country's Foreign Ministry due to statements made by President Erdogan. “The Turkish ambassador was informed that the era of territorial ambitions and militaristic imperial expansion has ended many years ago,” he noted.
Khatibzadeh emphasized that “Iran will not allow anyone to violate its territorial integrity.”
