Aliyev Announces Establishment of Russian-Turkish Monitoring Center in Aghdam Region
A joint Russian-Turkish monitoring center for supervising the ceasefire regime will be established in the Aghdam region of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was announced by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Saturday while meeting with the American and French co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, according to TASS agency.
The meeting was also attended by the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov and the personal representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Andzey Kasprzyk.
“We are in the process of establishing a monitoring center in the Aghdam region. The Russian-Turkish monitoring center will oversee the compliance with the ceasefire regime. I believe this is a good manifestation of regional cooperation. At the same time, it is a symbol of good collaboration between Turkey and Azerbaijan,” said Aliyev.
