Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations Enhances Troop Deployment in Nagorno-Karabakh
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations continues to deploy additional forces and resources to Nagorno-Karabakh to fulfill humanitarian mission objectives.
According to the website of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, on December 6, an Il-76 special aircraft departed from Moscow carrying rescue personnel. The combined group consists of canine specialists, pyrotechnicians, mountain rescuers from various units, communications personnel, rescuers, and psychologists. All members of the team have undergone COVID-19 testing with negative results.
The aircraft will transport three passenger buses, necessary equipment, and supplies for the operational activities of the Ministry's specialists in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The ministry's group continues to provide humanitarian assistance to the population. On December 5, its employees participated in relocating furniture supplies in Stepanakert for distribution to residents of affected areas. Cabinets, beds, chairs, and tables have been moved.
In addition, nearly 300 children participated in safety classes organized by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations specialists at schools in Stepanakert. The students are receiving knowledge and skills in first aid, learning the Heimlich maneuver, and how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
