Russian Peacekeepers Control 5 km Wide Lachin Corridor
Russian peacekeepers control the 5 km wide Lachin corridor, which ensures the connection between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia, as well as the return of residents to their former habitats and the movement of civilian transportation. This was reported by TASS, referring to the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
“According to the trilateral joint statement of the Presidents of the Russian Federation and Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia from December 1, the Lachin region of Nagorno-Karabakh has been transferred to the Azerbaijani side under the control of Russian peacekeeping forces. The Lachin corridor, which is under the control of Russian peacekeepers, is 5 km wide. This ensures communication with Armenia, the safe return of people to their places of residence, and the movement of civilian road transport,” said the Russian Defense Ministry representative.
