Final Boundary Demarcation Work Between Armenia and Azerbaijan Underway in Karvachar
The Armenian Ministry of Defense denies reports regarding the breaking of a gate leading to Karvachar, stating that work is underway for the final demarcation of the border.
In an interview with Armenpress, Gevorg Altunyan, the head of the Ministry of Defense's Information and Public Relations Department, addressed the circulating information that Azerbaijanis had broken the installed gate.
"There is, of course, no talk of a gate being broken. The issue at hand is the final demarcation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is also being discussed through satellite communication and GPS navigation devices. These works are currently being carried out, and there is no talk of breaking gates," said Altunyan.
He clarified the situation, stating, "Since Armenia has not had a border with Azerbaijan in that direction until now, meaning that after Armenia there has been Artsakh, the issue of boundary demarcation has arisen. These works are being conducted." Earlier, there were reports that Azerbaijanis had broken the gate and also entered the Sotk mine.
