German and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers Discuss Nagorno-Karabakh Issue
The foreign ministers of Germany and Azerbaijan discussed the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh over the phone. This information was reported by the TASS news agency.
According to the press service of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas expressed deep concern over the escalation of tensions in the region and emphasized the necessity of resolving the conflict through political means.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in turn, told his German counterpart that "the Armenian side is shelling peaceful residents and civilian infrastructure far from the front lines, resulting in casualties and destruction." Bayramov also stated that "to establish peace in the region, it is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council."
