Rise in Coronavirus Infections Could Create Serious Problems for Healthcare System: Avinyan

For more than 10 days now, the Armenian army has been fighting against Azerbaijani-Turkish aggressors and their mercenary terrorists for the right to live for all of us and for the continuity of Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora. During these days, we must support our heroic soldiers standing on the front line in every possible way. The front line is strong when the back is strong. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan on his Facebook page.

“With great concern, I must note that in recent days we have seen a sharp increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus. If this trend continues, it will create serious problems for our healthcare system. As a result, we will have both wounded from combat operations and many compatriots infected with coronavirus in need of medical services, which could lead to the overstrain of healthcare resources.

Our doctors have been working in a 24/7 mode for several months now, aiming to serve every patient to the best of their ability. Therefore, if we want injured soldiers and citizens to receive the best medical care, and coronavirus-infected patients to receive proper service, while the economy continues to operate—ensuring the front line has everything it needs—then it is necessary to do everything possible to avoid infection, that is, to strictly follow all sanitary and epidemiological regulations, which, without a doubt, we all know.

Therefore, I ask, urge, and demand that everyone be extremely vigilant and careful, continue to wear masks, maintain at least 1.5 meters distance, regularly disinfect hands, and refrain from unnecessary contact. Let us adhere to anti-epidemic rules, prevent the spread of the disease, and strengthen our support from behind, as we will inevitably #WIN.”
