633 Participants of Protest Action Arrested in Belarus
Protests and strikes in Belarus have not ceased following the presidential elections on August 9. The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced yesterday that 633 individuals were arrested during the protests.
The official representative of the Ministry, Olga Chemodanova, stated that the reason for these arrests was the violation of the law on mass gatherings. According to the agency, the total number of participants in the protests was around 31,000 people. On September 6, 42 protests were held in various regions of Belarus.
