Statue of Komitas Unveiled in Montreal

A statue of Komitas Vardapet was unveiled yesterday in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This information was shared through the Facebook page of the Armenian National Committee of Canada.

According to the announcement from the committee, the statue was created by sculptor Mkrtych Tarakchyan, who lives in Montreal. The description accompanying the photos of the sculpture states, "The father of Armenian folk song, Komitas, physically survived the Armenian Genocide of 1915, but could not withstand the psychological pain."
