Azerbaijan Refuses to Participate in 'Caucasus-2020' Exercises
Azerbaijan will not participate in the 'Caucasus-2020' military exercises and will instead send observers. This was reported by Gazeta.ru, citing the country's Ministry of Defense.
“Azerbaijani servicemen will not participate in the 'Caucasus-2020' exercises, which will take place in Russia this September. It is planned to send two servicemen to attend these exercises in an observer capacity,” the statement said.
Earlier, India's Ministry of Defense announced that it would not participate in the tactical exercises due to the pandemic.
Recently, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu reported that the defense ministers of the CIS, CSTO, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization agreed to expand cooperation in the fight against terrorism, and the first joint exercises will be held within the framework of 'Caucasus-2020.'
