Insurance Company Employee Charged with Document Forgery

The investigation into the forgery of a document by an agent of an insurance company has been completed by the Lori Regional Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

According to the data obtained during the investigation, a 30-year-old man, working as an agent for the insurance company, learned in May 2020 from a 42-year-old long-time client that the term of the insurance contract for his "Mercedes-Benz" vehicle had expired. The agent promised to renew it online but forgot due to work overload.

On May 22, 2020, around 14:15, after learning that the traffic police of the RA had stopped the "Mercedes-Benz" belonging to the client, motivated by the desire to maintain his relationship with him, without the man's knowledge, the company’s agent insured the aforementioned vehicle at the office of the insurance company located at Khorenatsi Street in Vanadzor, and created a document certifying the exemption from responsibility online, falsifying the time indicated in it, and provided it to him for use.

Based on the gathered evidence, the insurance company employee has been charged under Article 325, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code (forging documents, seals, stamps, forms, registration numbers of vehicles, selling or using them). A signature prohibiting him from leaving has been selected as a preventive measure against him. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an accusatory conclusion.
