Police Kill African American Man in Los Angeles, Protests Erupt at Scene

Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies shot and killed an African American man armed with a handgun on Monday night after he resisted arrest. ABC News reported this on Tuesday, citing a representative from the sheriff's office.

The police attempted to stop the man, who was riding a bicycle and violating traffic regulations. Once they successfully halted him, a struggle ensued between the officers and the suspect. During the altercation, the African American man dropped a semi-automatic handgun. According to the sheriff's representative, afterwards, officers fired several shots at the suspect, as reported by TASS.

The sheriff's office has confirmed that an investigation into the incident is underway. A number of protesters have gathered at the scene.
