Amulsar Dilemma: Conflict Between Jermuk Residents and Environmentalists
In defense of Amulsar, a car rally was organized yesterday. Residents from Jermuk arrived, while a group of environmentalists and political representatives gathered at Freedom Square. They were beating drums and holding banners with slogans such as "My knees tremble at the mention of Amulsar," "We must recognize the impact assessment of Amulsar as null and void," and "We are our mountains and the little stones beside them."
Meanwhile, a group of residents from nearby communities released a statement claiming they organized the protest in a car column to disguise the low number of participants. They also called out, "Stop speaking on our behalf, stop attempting to reap dividends at the expense of our and our families' fate... We want to live in a country governed by law, and the direct responsibility lies with the Government of Armenia."
