Why the Head of Aramus Community Resigned

As previously reported, the head of the Aramus community in the Kotayk region, Hrayr Nikoghosyan, has submitted his resignation to the Aramus community council. Based on this, the council decided on July 20, 2020, to prematurely terminate the powers of Hrayr Nikoghosyan as the head of the Aramus community.

In an interview with ArmDaily.am regarding his resignation, Nikoghosyan stated that it was due to health issues. “I have had four stents in my heart for about 12 years now; my health condition has deteriorated, and I am no longer able to continue,” he explained.

He also added that his term of office was set to expire in November 2021. “I have handed over my duties to the deputy head of the community until the governor appoints an interim replacement,” he said.
