Significant Control Established Over Important Heights, Says Former Commander
The situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is manageable, said Colonel Grigor Grigoryan, president of the Union of Veterans of the Karabakh War, in an interview with Aysor.am. Grigoryan, who previously served for several years in the Armenian Armed Forces in the Tavush region, noted that Azerbaijani aggressive actions indicate that the situation could escalate further. "I do not rule out this possibility," he stated.
Regarding the positional improvement of the Armenian Armed Forces during recent military operations, Grigoryan emphasized that this is a very important factor. "Thus, we are able to provide visibility up to 15-20 km and hit enemy targets. This is very important," the military officer noted, highlighting that it is not about the Qaradagh heights circulating on social media, but rather about establishing control over a much more critical height.
Grigoryan also pointed out that by initiating aggressive actions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the Azerbaijani authorities are attempting to distract their own population from numerous issues within the country. "Azerbaijan is provoking war to cover up certain problems," he said.
