Theft of Tools Worth Over 2 Million Drams from a Garage on Tichina Street
On May 25, a citizen reported to the police that the lock on the door of their garage on Tichina Street had been opened overnight and work tools were stolen. This information was provided by the police of the Republic of Armenia.
The criminal investigators of the Malatya division of the police conducted necessary actions at the scene to uncover the crime. The police recorded that, according to preliminary estimates, the victim suffered damages of more than 2 million drams.
On May 29, the police detained a 51-year-old resident of Yerevan on suspicion of committing the theft. The police suspected that the 51-year-old man did not act alone. Continuing their investigation, officers from the Malatya division of the police detained three more residents of Yerevan on July 6.
They confessed that on the night of May 25, they had stolen items from the garage together with the 51-year-old man, who had been detained on May 29. Some of the stolen items have been recovered.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. Investigations are underway.
