Accident on Yerevan-Gyumri Road: Collision of 'Mercedes E' and 'Honda Fit', 29-Year-Old Driver Dies on the Spot

On July 8, at 20:36, the Crisis Management National Center of Armenia received a report about a car accident at the beginning of the village of Azatan. A firefighting and rescue team from the Shirak regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.

It was discovered that at km 115 of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway, a 'Mercedes E' (driver: Avetik M., born in 1980) and a 'Honda Fit' (driver: Hayk M., born in 1991) collided. As a result, Hayk M. died on the spot, while Avetik M. was hospitalized with various degrees of bodily injuries at Gyumri Medical Center, where doctors assessed his health condition as satisfactory.

The rescuers disconnected the electricity from the vehicle and closed the gas cylinder valve.
