The event occurred on Saturday morning in São Paulo while Macedon and his team were filming a report about rising water levels in the Tietê River due to heavy rains. A man approached the journalist, whose face was covered by a gray hat, and threatened him with a knife, stealing one of his mobile phones before fleeing the scene.

Reports indicate that Macedon was not injured and returned to the television studio. However, the incident left the woman quite shaken.
