Explosion in Turkish Weapons Factory: Many Casualties and Injuries

A Turkish academic and Kurdish studies expert, Karen Hovhannisyan, reported on his Facebook page: "An explosion has occurred in a Turkish weapons factory, resulting in casualties and injuries. Around 11:15 AM local time, an explosion occurred in a facility located in the Hendek district of Sakarya province, which, according to Turkish sources, is a fireworks manufacturing plant. At least 10 people have died, and more than a hundred have been injured.

Despite attempts by the Turkish side to present the factory as a fireworks production site, its activities indicate that it is a weapons factory.

Following directives from President Erdogan, Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, and Family, Labor, and Social Services Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk have arrived at the scene.

Residents of nearby communities reported that they thought an earthquake had occurred, only to later realize that there were explosions happening at the factory.
