Cases of Burglary and Attempted Burglary Discovered in Yerevan
The investigation and legal proceedings conducted by the Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee in the Center and Norq-Marash administrative districts have revealed cases of burglary and attempted burglary that took place in Yerevan.
Two individuals have been arrested. The preliminary investigation has established that with the intent to secretly steal someone else's property, two citizens, aged 30 and 34, unlawfully entered apartments on Hovsepyan and Norq-Marash streets in Yerevan in April 2020, stealing money and jewelry, causing varying amounts of damage to the property of the citizens.
Additionally, on April 27, around 4:00 AM, they attempted to break into a house on Hovsepyan Street using technical means for theft purposes, but due to circumstances beyond their control, they did not complete the crime and fled the scene.
Based on the sufficient combination of evidence obtained, charges have been brought against the aforementioned two individuals under Article 177, Part 3, Point 1.1 (theft) and Article 34-177, Part 3, Point 1.1 (attempted theft) of the RA Criminal Code. They have been placed in custody as a preventive measure.
The investigation is ongoing.
Note: The suspected or accused individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in the manner prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code of the RA, by a legally binding court verdict.
