Illegal Intervention at the Monument Building on Abovyan Street 32: Hakob Karapetyan

An illegal intervention is taking place at the monument building located at Abovyan Street 32 in Yerevan. This was reported earlier in a Facebook live broadcast by Hakob Karapetyan, the spokesperson for the Yerevan Mayor's office. He noted that before 2018, the developer received a construction permit to open a door. However, in 2018, the municipality suspended this decision, and the developer has contested the suspension in court.

According to Karapetyan, the First Instance Court recently accepted the plaintiff's claim, but the municipality has appealed to the Court of Appeals. The spokesperson stated that there is no legally effective court ruling in place, and any actions being taken are illegal, yet work continues. The wall demolition work has been completed, and stairs have been installed for the second time, following a previous dismantling by municipality staff.

Karapetyan also informed about the existence of a criminal case initiated based on the municipality’s report.
