Truck Collision on Road from Ashtarak to Shamirami Village Results in Injuries

On June 19, at 14:03, the National Crisis Management Center received a report about an accident on the Aruch-Shamirami highway involving injuries. This was confirmed by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

A firefighting and rescue team from the Aragatsotn regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene.

It was found that at the 25th kilometer of the road from Ashtarak to Shamirami, a collision occurred between two trucks: a KamAZ loaded with stones (driver: Mihran M., 57 years old) and a ZIL truck (driver: Gevorg O., 30 years old). The KamAZ overturned and blocked the roadway.

Before the rescuers arrived, the drivers were hospitalized at the Ashtarak Medical Center, where doctors assessed Gevorg O.'s condition as stable, and Mihran M.'s as moderate. The latter was transferred to the Yerevan “Erebuni” Medical Center.

The rescuers shut off the gas valve of the ZIL truck and carried out washing operations of the affected road segment. Special equipment is required to right the KamAZ truck.
