231 Citizens Await Hospitalization; 586 Patients in Severe or Critical Condition
On Sunday, we recorded 397 cases from 1,276 tests conducted. While this is a positive figure in absolute terms, it is still concerning due to the high percentage of tests conducted, and the low number of tests is attributed to the Sunday schedule. This was stated by the Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, during a Facebook press conference.
The Minister reported that 470 patients are currently in severe condition due to the coronavirus, with 116 in critical condition. Additionally, 35 individuals are connected to artificial lung ventilation machines.
“As of June 15 at 3 PM, 231 citizens in Armenia need hospitalization; 89 of them are waiting at home, while the others are in various medical centers. Among those waiting at home, one person is rated from moderate to severe condition, 36 have moderate conditions, and 52 are in mild condition,” the Minister informed.
According to the Minister, it is crucial to keep the number of patients awaiting hospitalization as low as possible, to ensure that all “severe” patients can be accommodated in medical centers specializing in coronavirus treatment.
